The Future of Every Family’s Got One

With our live EFGO storytelling shows and podcast resuming in 2022, there is no better time to hone your unique family story.

“Rarely is there an opportunity in which a writer can read their work in a supportive environment and receive a brilliant compassionate critique which moves their writing to the next level. That’s what EFGO offers; a place to showcase our writing, hear knowledgeable, invaluable feedback, take those lessons with us, and work on our future bestsellers.”

About Me!

Barbara Herel is a writer, producer, storyteller, wife, mom, and middle child. You bet she has stories to tell. She trained and performed improv and sketch comedy with Gotham City Improv, wrote for Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, and Lifetime; and was a writer/cast member for NBC’s late-night sketch comedy show Live On Tape.

Barbara’s written for online venues including Scary Mommy, Motherly, and Reality Moms; is a past contributing writer to Adoptive Families magazine, and a contributing author to two parenting books, The Zen of Midlife Mothering, and Tick Tock: Essays on Becoming a Parent After 40 (Dottir Press, September 2021).

Before founding her storytelling show Every Family’s Got One in 2017, she was a cast member and co-producer of the NYC production of the nationally acclaimed storytelling series Listen To Your Mother. In 2022, once again, Barbara will be performing live in theaters, supper clubs, and at the bus stop to her daughter’s extreme embarrassment.
