I am from…
the painted grout between the bricks,
from Walden Mega Magics and Lost Subscorcher 2s.
I am from…
the smallest, coziest house in the neighborhood.
The smell of low tide, I am from the ocean…
the sea, big and blue and raging.
I am from…
Thanksgiving at the Cooke’s house,
loud and rowdy, from mom and dad and papa.
I am from…
Christmas Eve at my house
and movie nights at home.
From…
you can be anything you want and Broncos before Giants,
I am from…
no church on Sundays but still believe in God.
I am from Denver Colorado but still eat crab legs and steamers.
From…
the bumpy plane rides with mom, dad, and Ashleigh,
and the longing for my sister and family far away.
I am from…
family that loves me no matter what happens.

Aw, beautiful words and loved reading them here today. Thanks, Chris for sharing yourself and poetry with us 🙂
I really am beyond impressed… with Chris’ words and self-confidence. He wrote this when he was a young teen and now he’s soon off to college. Amazing.
Oh my, what an amazing young man. Christopher we are so proud of you and our love ❤️ for you is endless…
And this is just the beginning……..???
